Hot Topics for Cool Singles
Gastro-Sexuals and Tweddings
Whether you're “sleepless in Seattle,” in a New York State of Mind,” or keep quarters in “sweet home Alabama”, today's topics are relevant to singles of every age and stage, across the globe.
From water cooler conversations, to current news, to “gem's observations, here's the 4-1-1 on what folks are talking about and what you need to know.
GASTRO-SEXUALS
According to a recent survey, (Gastro-sexuals) are on the incline. Don't know what the word means? Gastro-sexuals are men that have culinary skills and enjoy cooking. Well, it seems that more and more men are seeing cooking as a way to a woman's heart as well! This trend is attributed to the number of chef shows and cooking cuties on TV. Like Chef Ramsey, Simply Ming, and Rocko. As for me, I'm all for it. Just imagine all the creative things that can come about in the midst of a steamy meal! Not to mention, it creates more equality in relationships and dating. And have you checked out the cost of fining dining in restaurants these days? Ouch! MORE TO LOVE
Recently launched by Fox 32, this addition to the reality show frenzy, features women who in past times, have not gotten a lot of press, due to their less than petite figures. Basically this weekly show showcases big girls from sizes 14-24 looking for love. The theme is pretty much the same as other shows, whereby women of all walks of life compete for the affections of one bachelor, and experience the trials and tribulations of finding true love.
TWEDDINGS
Word has it that couples can now tie the knot through social media network, TWITTER. For details see Twitter.com (and you can follow Online Dating Magazine on Twitter here).
MUST SEE MOVIES
With fall on the horizon, what better way to enjoy cooler weather and indoor pleasures? Here are my picks for this year.
Must Love Dogs
Whether you're an animal lover or not, you'll love this flick on two people who meet through the meddling of family and friends, and merge their lives and their love of pets into an incredible movie. It's funny, it's sad, it's endearing. Don't miss it.
The Break Up
Jennifer Aniston really does justice to the woes of romance in this movie where two singles who meet casually at a baseball game strike out after facing some of the trials and tribulations of long term compatibility. OMG! This movie was so much fun, I've watched it about four times so far. Get the popcorn and get ready for a lot of thought provoking issues and themes.
P.S. I Love You
Believe me when I tell you... anything that has Hillary Swank in it is sure to be a winner!
You can take it to the bank! I'm not sure if it's her acting ability, or her ability to choose good scripts as projects, but here's someone worth watching. Whether it's Million Dollar Baby, Boys Don't Cry, Freedom Writers, or any other movie, she truly delivers! Anyhow... I liked this movie, so much that I did a double-take and watched it several times. Why? Well, first of all, the male actors in the movie were really cute.:-) Not only that, but here's a picture that has a great mixture of emotional elements--- funny moments, (like the karaoke scene and the make-up session), sad scenes, (when her hubby dies, when she tries to reclaim her life and find romance).
Storyline? Hillary Swank loses her husband through a brain tumor. Their romance is continued beyond his death, as he leaves her various letters to convey his “undying love” for her and to help her heal and find joy in her life again. This is a must-see movie!
Well, there you have it folks, all things real and relevant to today's singles today. What's on your mind as it relates to the singles' scene? Drop me a line at Gemsjen@yahoo.com.
