Match.com's Free Online Dating Service - More Info
Several week's ago, the Online Dating Newsletter announced that Match.com had launched a free online dating service to compete against other popular free online dating services. Late last week, Match.com confirmed, via a press release, that DownToEarth.com was its new foray into the free online dating marketplace. Many additional details have emerged from the press release. Here are a few:
"DownToEarth.com's cornerstone feature, RealRatings, encourages daters, after meeting in person, to rate the accuracy of the information provided in the other person's profile. The five-star rating system allows daters to score the other person's accuracy from 'Not Even Close' (one star) to 'True to Life' (five stars). Through actively encouraging daters to participate, DownToEarth.com empowers its community to create the dating environment they're seeking.
Online security and fraud prevention expert Jacob Solotaroff, is overseeing the operations of DownToEarth.com as the sites General Manager. Prior to his new role, he worked at Match.com.

Online Dating Tip for Men
Here's an online dating tip for men when asking a woman out on that first date. When it comes time to make that first date official, it's a good idea to also settle the "who will pay for the bill" issue in advance. This will alleviate some of the first date stress as there will be no wondeering how to handle the bill issue since it has been taken care of in advance.
Settling the bill issue in advance is as easy as incorporating it into your date invite:
"How about we get together at (name of place) on Thursday evening? My treat."
"I'd love to meet you in person. Can I buy you dinner at (name of place) so that we can get to know each other?"
You get the idea.
Now if the woman you're asking out responds that she would feel more comfortable going dutch, then don't argue with her suggestion. Go dutch. What you don't want to do is leave your date with the bill or leave the issue hanging until the last minute.
But what if the issue is left hanging until the last minute? In that case, the genereal rule of thumb is that the person who invited the other on the date should pay for it. But you shouldn't let this be the expectation if you are the one that was invited. Take money and be prepared. And never, under any circumstances, attach "value" to you paying for the bill. Some men have been known to have "expectations" if they pay for a date. Don't be one of those types of men. By paying you have the honor of meeting the person you've been communicating with and nothing more. Whether it goes well or not, you should always be a gentleman about it.

Online Dating Photo Tip
When posting an online dating profile photo, here's a tip that will help a potential date better identify to your photo:
Step 1: Make sure the photo you post is recent (no more than three months old).
Step 2: When you go on a first date with someone, wear one of the outfits that you wore in one of your photos.
When a person goes on a first date with you, they have only your photo to rely on. Therefore, it is important to look as much like your photo as possible. Therefore wear a nice outfit in one of your photos (full body shop), then wear that same outfit on your first date. It will make it easier for your date to associate that your photo is recent and you didn't "lie" by posting an old photo.
